Notched prestressing strand is a premium concrete strand that provides high bond performance. In the 7-wire strand, excluding the central wire, notches are formed on three surfaces of the six outer wires by a pressing method in accordance with the FprEN 10138-3 standard. The pressing directions on each wire are applied as two in the same direction and one in the opposite direction, creating anchorage pockets that enhance bond performance. This anchorage mechanism contributes not only to increased bond strength but also to shortening the transfer length of the prestressing force.

High-carbon wire rods produced by Diler Iron and Steel are taken into the surface cleaning unit, where they are cleaned with sulfuric acid and subjected to a phosphating coating process.

High-carbon wire rods that have passed through the surface cleaning process are subjected to deformation in wire drawing machines, reducing their diameter and increasing their length to achieve the desired final diameter.

The drawn wire is embossed at three points by means of discs in accordance with the EN 10138-3 standard, thereby gaining the notched surface feature.

In line with the requirements of the standard, the wires with the newly formed surface feature are twisted into 7-wire prestressing strands to obtain the rope form.

The material, which has taken the rope form, is subjected to heat treatment at 400 °C.

The processed material is subjected to testing in accordance with EN 10138-3, covering all mechanical and surface properties, and all required inspections are carried out.

On the continuous line, the product is cut into coils of the desired weight, packaged, labeled, and made ready for shipment.

Notched prestressing strands are safely used in hollow-core slabs, bridge girders and industrial structures, prestressed concrete poles, and railway sleepers.
