The billets as the end product of the continuous casting machine of Diler Steel Meltshop, become DNA PC Strand Facility’s wire rod raw material, after being rolled at Diler Wire Rod Rolling Mill.
The following procedures below are applied to the high carbon and Cr-V alloyed wire rods after arriving at DNA PC Strand Facility:
1- Pickling and Coating: The scale surface of the wire rod as the result of the milling process is cleaned with acid. The cleansed surface is coated with phosphate in order to easen the following process, wire drawing. The wire rod moves on a fully automated line from the start till the end at DNA PC Strand Surface Processing.
2- Cold Wire Drawing: Phosphate coated wire rod is deformed in a cold drawing process in order to make the diameter suitable for the production of prestressed PC strand and PC wire as well as achieve the mechanical properties.
3-Production of Prestressed PC strand and PC wire: Cold drawn rods are placed to either PC strand or PC wire production lines. For the strand production, seven spools of wire are braided into a strand before moving on to the thermomechanical process. For the wire production, the same thermomechanical process is directly applied to the cold drawn wire rod. Gaining low relaxation propery, the products are prepared for custumized packaging based on the customers’ demands.
4-Quality Contreol and Packaging: The end product is tested for the following parameters; diameter, tension and yield strength and relaxation. After confirmed by the quality department, products are labeled and transferred to the storage area covered with the protective wrapping paper.
In additon to the routine mechanical tests, the entegration with Diler Demir Çelik allows us to run metalographic and chemical analysis.
